Day 5: SOHRA – NONGRIAT - SOHRA
Today post breakfast trek to Nongriat Double Decker Root Bridge, one of the living root bridges of Meghalaya. Their origin is unknown but Ficus Elastica, a plant was used almost more than 180 years ago by the Khasi people to make a strong bridge above streams which can withstand the rain, which still exist now and continues to grow. The art of building a Root bridge is passed on from generations to generations and can only be found in Meghalaya. The trek will take around 5-6 hours. Enjoy your time in the pool beside the bridge and return back during sundown.
Evening rest in your room after a tiring trek. Overnight at Sohra.
Day 6: SOHRA - GUWAHATI
Today post breakfast check out the hotel in Sohra and head back towards Guwahati.
Enroute stop over at Mawdok Dympep.
